BHC has provided on-call planning services to the Town of South Cle Elum for close to a decade, supporting both long-range planning and current planning needs. Our work has included updates to the Comprehensive Plan and Municipal Code, land use application review for code compliance, SEPA evaluations and documentation, and representation at public hearings. We completed a periodic review of the Shoreline Master Program and helped the Town prepare amendments to the previous Comprehensive Plan and Municipal Code in order to lift a moratorium on development within the Community Gateway designation. Our team has supported the Town with policy and code developments, shoreline planning, permit review, GIS analysis, and facilitation of public participation. Throughout this work, we have coordinated closely with the Planning Commission and Town Council to ensure consistency with local priorities and state requirements. Building on this ongoing relationship, BHC now leads the Town’s 2026 Comprehensive Plan Update.
