The City of Pacific hired BHC to provide on-call current planning services to supplement staffing needs in the Community Development Department. Acting as an extension of City staff, BHC represented the City to applicants, outside agencies, and the public while reviewing development projects, land use proposals, and building permits for compliance with adopted plans and regulations. Our other responsibilities included advising staff on planning issues, preparing code interpretations, conducting pre-application meetings, and responding to general inquiries both online and in-person. Our planners also provided in-person assistance to residents at the planning counter at City Hall. By supplementing staff capacity, BHC helped the City maintain efficient and responsive service to the community and meet review timelines. BHC was also tasked with helping City staff navigate the completion of a periodic update to the Comprehensive Plan.
