BHC worked with the Town and the Washington State Department of Ecology to overhaul the Shoreline Master Program (SMP) in a concurrent Comprehensive Update and Periodic Review process. Our work involved updating shoreline maps, implementing an updated framework for shoreline environments, and ensuring clarity and consistency throughout the process. We reformatted the SMP to improve usability and ease of administration and incorporated regulatory changes to ensure consistency with state shoreline guidelines. We also supported the Town throughout the adoption process, attending meetings, presenting to decision-makers, and responding to technical questions from both the Town and Ecology to ensure smooth and timely completion.
