BHC has provided the City of Gold Bar with both current and long-range planning services. Our work included land use review, preparation of development code amendments, SEPA review, and Comprehensive Plan updates. We have also supported the processing of numerous development applications, including subdivisions, shoreline permits, and permit extensions. BHC conducted the review of several conditional use permits for recreational and medical marijuana businesses, coordinating with applicants, reviewing proposals for consistency with City code, the Comprehensive Plan, and state restrictions, and presenting findings to the hearing body. We also drafted Development Code amendments to address these uses in a way that maximizes community benefit. BHC assisted the City with the 2019 Shoreline Master Program periodic update, which included extensive coordination with the Department of Ecology to ensure compliance with state rules and guidance, resulting in timely approval and adoption of the adopted program.
