BHC provided current and long range planning services to the City of Edmonds, including updates to the City’s Land Use Code. BHC provided an initial review of the City’s Subdivision Code for consistency with state regulations and prepared a draft report documenting findings and conclusions, with specific recommendations of how additional provisions for subdivision design may be used to protect site features such as critical areas, significant trees, and solar access. BHC provided alternative provisions for other subdivision-related strategies including clustering, density transfer, binding site plans, and planned unit developments. In a final report, BHC provided City staff with a scope of recommendations to be used for future code amendments.
