Bio: Growing up in Mexico made Asela appreciate the importance of building cities for people: creating vibrant, sustainable spaces, and promoting social interaction. After relocating to Washington in 2014, she deepened her understanding of how planning decisions shape communities and their quality of life. Asela previously worked as a planner/permit technician for the City of Duvall where she focused on improving the reliability and consistency of the development review process. As a professional, Asela believes effective communication is essential for maintaining good relationships and for conveying complex concepts, while making use of her bilingual and graphic design skills. Asela spends her free time walking through town, playing video games, attending Seattle Symphony concerts, and planning her next travel adventure.
