Civil Project Engineer |
BHC Consultants is a consulting engineering, planning, and building code and construction compliance firm with offices in Seattle, Tacoma, and Bellingham, Washington. We are currently seeking a full time Project Engineer to join our engineering group in one of our three office locations. Collaboration with staff in all offices should be expected; preferred location can be prioritized.BHC is a growing firm with a significant backlog of municipal consulting services contracts for cities, counties, and special purpose districts in the Northwest, supported primarily by Western Washington clients. We are committed to a healthy work-life balance for all staff.The primary responsibilities of the Civil Project Engineer will include:
- Assist with engineering planning and design for water, wastewater, stormwater and solid waste projects
- Develop project work products that include technical memoranda, reports, design plan sets and specifications
- Perform engineering calculations and prepare opinions of probable project costs for projects
- Lead design activities and assist project managers and other staff to complete projects on time and within budget
- Assist in the continued growth of the company by identifying and developing new clients and projects
- Demonstrate work experience in municipal engineering including sanitary sewer design, storm sewer design, water-main design and grading design for roads and lots
- Bachelor of Science (Civil, Environmental, Chemical or Mechanical Engineering)
- Licensed Professional Engineer. State of Washington PE license required within 6 months of date of hire
- 8+ years demonstrated success working on multi-disciplinary engineering projects
- Strong technical leadership background
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Proficient with MS Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint), and MS Project
- A positive attitude and commitment to being an active participant of our employee-owned culture
- Demonstrated success working on multi-disciplinary engineering projects
- Working knowledge of AutoCAD, GIS and/or Revit (BIM) design software products
- Project management training, PMP certification or similar technical design leadership
- Experience with wastewater process modeling software (BioWin)
- Experience with Hydraulic modeling products (Innovyze, Bentley and/or Visual Hydraulics)
