Hydraulic Modeler – Water/Wastewater | BHC Consultants is a consulting engineering, planning, and building code and construction compliance firm with offices in Seattle, Tacoma, and Bellingham Washington. We are in need of a full-time Water/Wastewater Hydraulic Modeler to join our engineering group in one of our three office locations. Collaboration with staff in all offices should be expected; preferred location can be prioritized.

  • Utilize commercial software to statistically and graphically analyze data, develop and calibrate hydraulic models of wastewater collection and water distribution systems.
  • Apply modeling software to effectively diagnose utility system deficiencies, identify efficient improvements to resolve deficiencies and plan for growth and effectively communicate all phases of model development and analysis.
  • Develop and evaluate control alternatives and strategies for optimization.
  • Documentation of methods and results in written reports and verbal presentations. Required Qualifications:
  • B.S. in Civil or Environmental Engineering.
  • 6 -10 years of directly applicable experience.
  • State of Washington PE (or ability to obtain through reciprocity).
  • Extensive experience in data management for model import, model development, calibration and performance of a wide range of analysis scenarios.
  • Experience with InfoWater, InfoSWMM, MIKE Urban/MIKE+ and InfoWorks a plus.
  • Ideal candidate is self-motivated, attentive to detail, an excellent communicator (written and verbal), able to work independently and with a project team to the completion of a task.
  • Ability to work within ESRI ArcGIS and ArcGIS PRO.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
